A large collection of family papers spanning three generations: Georgiana Huntly McCrae, George Gordon McCrae and Hugh Raymond McCrae. It includes diaries, correspondence, literary manuscripts, printed books, scrapbooks, drawings, photographs, portrait miniatures. The collection is especially rich with reference to, and illustrations of, early Melbourne. Includes brass protractor (Bleuler, London, consisting of a circle divided into 360° and a diameter) at Box 2525/10. Includes a McCrae family tree - descent from Alexander McCrae and from William De Gourdan. Compiled from the McCrae family record, the Dictionary of National Biography and other sources between 1937 and 1962 by Charles Stuart Perry (MC 7, DR 3).
